Teplice nad Metují
A place full of experiences.
Teplice nad Metují is a picturesque small town in the Náchod District of the Hradec Králové Region, with approximately 1,600 inhabitants. It lies in the valley of the Metuje River, surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area, which is considered one of the most stunning areas in northeastern Bohemia.
The town is best known for its proximity to the impressive sandstone rock formations between Adršpach and Teplice. It is an ideal destination for an active holiday. Climbers, hikers, cyclists, nature lovers, and families with children will all find something to enjoy here.
Additional sports and leisure activities can be found just a few minutes from the cottage (tennis courts, a gym, a public climbing wall, a children's playground, a swimming pool, as well as easy and more challenging walking trails).
In winter, you can take advantage of the artificially snow-covered ski slope and cross-country skiing trails located right behind the cottage.
The town also offers a post office, shops (grocery store, drugstore, flower shop, clothing store, sports equipment store, stationery shop), a pharmacy, restaurants, a wine bar, and a café.

Teplice nad Metují & the Broumov Region
Teplice nad Metují and the surrounding towns offer a wide range of summer and winter activities. You can set out for memorable experiences in nearby towns or explore the beauty of unspoiled nature. The countryside of the Broumov and Náchod regions is considered one of the most beautiful areas of Eastern Bohemia. It offers a unique combination of world-class natural scenery, historical landmarks, and vibrant culture — all set in a peaceful environment with excellent accessibility.
The highlight of the area is the iconic Adršpach–Teplice Rocks, a spectacular sandstone rock city with romantic gorges, lakes, and breathtaking viewpoints. These formations continue with the quieter Teplice Rocks, Jiráskovy Rocks with the ruins of Bischofstein Castle, the rock city of Ostaš, and the impressive Broumov Walls featuring the Hvězda Chapel and the Stone Gate.
History lovers will find plenty to admire in Broumov. The town's dominant landmark is the magnificent Benedictine Monastery. The region is also home to a unique group of Baroque rural churches, the historic town center, and preserved town walls. You can also visit the exceptional wooden cemetery church, one of the oldest all-wooden churches in Central Europe, remarkable for both its age and construction technique.
The Broumov Basin is surrounded by the rocky ridges of the Broumov Walls, where scenic viewpoints such as the Stone Gate, Vulture's Nest, Koruna, and many others await visitors.
The dominant feature of Náchod is its impressive castle perched on a rocky hill above the town. Visitors can explore numerous historical landmarks, including a bronze bench featuring the writer Josef Škvorecký. Above the town stands the Dobrošov artillery fortress, built in 1938 as part of the Czechoslovak border defenses.
The beautiful Renaissance square of Nové Město nad Metují sits on a rocky promontory, with the Metuje River flowing through the valley below. The town's château and garden are enhanced by a wooden bridge designed by architect Dušan Jurkovič, who also created the excursion restaurant at Peklo located about five kilometers upstream.
Hronov is the birthplace of Czech writer Alois Jirásek. Česká Skalice and Ratibořice are closely connected with the famous Czech author Božena Němcová.
The region is culturally vibrant throughout the year. Major annual events include Jiráskův Hronov, Náchodská Prima sezóna, the Za poklady Broumovska music festival, and the International Mountaineering Film Festival in Teplice nad Metují.
A great advantage of the area is its proximity to Poland and the Stołowe Mountains National Park. The region offers a dense network of hiking and cycling trails and year-round opportunities for active relaxation, including wellness stays in the nearby spa town of Kudowa-Zdrój.
Teplice nad Metují and the Broumov Region are ideal places for living, recreation, and destinations people love to return to.
We look forward to your stay.
